The West Loop’s Best Dog Parks

Dog parks are a great place to take your pup for some exercise and social time with other dogs. If you’re in Chicago’s West Loop, here are some dog parks that you and your pooch should check out. (Just make sure that you are aware of the proper etiquette before hitting the park!)

Skinner Bark Park
17 S. Loomis St.
Chicago, IL 60607
Located across the street from Skinner Park, your dog will love this large park with both artificial turf and cement. Kiddie pools filled with water will be an instant hit with your pup in the summer, and a shaded bench area makes the perfect place to socialize any time of the year.

Mary Bartelme Park
115 S. Sangamon St.
Chicago, IL 60607
The sunken dog park with ramps, ledges, steps, and artificial grass give pups a great place to exercise. A hose in the park that can be used to fill kiddie pools is also great for water-loving dogs.

K2 Apartments
365 N Halsted St
Chicago, IL 60661
At .5 acres, this dog park is the largest in the city and is open for public use. The park includes a grassy area and a gated gravel area, and its size is great if your pup likes to run free.

Fulton River Park
601 W Kinzie St
Chicago, IL 60654
Located right next to Alta at K Station, this small .07 acre dog friendly area is a more intimate park. The area is completely fenced in and has plenty of shade, making it a great place to socialize with other dogs and owners.
